38. A LARGE PERSIAN KINJAL DAGGER, 19TH CENTURY

Origin: Persia, 19th century.

Length in scabbard – 69,6 cm, without – 67,1 cm, blade – 51,3 cm.

Blade: straight double edged tapering blade with one narrow fuller. The blade is richly decorated with golden floral ornaments. Maker’s mark on the one side of the blade.

Hilt: bone grip plates, riveted with three iron rivets.

Scabbard: wooden scabbard covered with black leather. Iron fittings with suspension loop, silvering in obverse.

Condition report: blade in good condition, light pitting from corrosion in some places, insignificant scratches, areas of dark patina. Gilding worn off in some places. Grip plates with scratches, small dents, patina. Leather of the scabbard with amount of wear according to an age, scratches, dents, wear off.
