45. A TIBETAN SWORD WITH SCABBARD, 19TH – 20TH CENTURY

Origin: Tibet, 19th - 20th century.

Length 71 cm.

Blade: Straight single edged flat blade with one narrow fuller. Yellow metal inlay near the tip.

Hilt: The grip is wrapped with silver twisted wire. The pommel is silver openwork, with red lining under.

Scabbard: Wooden scabbard covered with silver, decorated with zoomorphic motifs – dragon with long tail and fishes on obverse and spiral circles on reverse.

Condition report: Blade with slight pitting from corrosion, insignificant scratches and dents. Silver with light patina, scratches and dents.
